It was advertised as paying for all these days, 37.5hrs per week but this turned out to be a mistake and they only wanted to pay 30hrs per week, so not for the training day as in previous years. • I have let my property to an estate agent (who my contract is with, the contract states the house will not be used as a HMO) and they have a contract with a Care Company to sublet to them. The care company provides supported living for adults with learning disabilities. I have been told by the estate agent no HMO required. Maximum of 3 adults living there. Is a HMO licence required?
• Hi it’s been a month me,my wife and 9 month son rented a studio on 2nd floor , the agreement said 12 month fixed with 1 month notice. But studio drainage have problem and smells very bad, the agency tried once putting chemicals in the drains but still same. It’s very inconvenient so We gave one month notice but the agency says we need to pay remaining months rent or two months penalty is that true.what can we do?

I was outside of the UK from 18 December 2019 to 29 December 2019 (10 days). I then was abroad again from 14 March 2020 onwards and returned to the UK on 21 August 2020 only (159 days of absence). I stayed in the UK until 31 August 2020 and have since been abroad again. I will return on 18 August 2021 (one-off less than 12-month absence with acceptable excuse).Should I reapply for pre-settled status starting 21 August 2020 in order to be eligible for settled status later? Is there anything in particular that I need to pay attention to re absences before or after the 12-month one-off absence period?Many thanks!

• Employer, family owned UK business >30 staff acquired by overseas company.1st notification staff meeting after takeover. no prior consultation.Now told to be relocated 32 miles away few months time. Have disability under Equality act. since takeover no HR consideration.To work at new location >2hrs travel each way on public transport & adverse impact on impairment. I consider impractical. Joined family run business over 12 years ago. Contract carried over unchanged. No clause for re-location. Am concerned takeover may breach TUPE & my treatment Equality act. Would like to know how to establish if takeover in accordance with TUPE & if not, what means for redress.Also rights, considering disability, re relocation. "1-1" meetings due in few weeks & fear job loss. mental health suffering.
• I received a letter from my employer telling me the outcome of my disciplinary hearing ,Dismissed with immediate effect.No notice period given I was Tupe over on 1/9/16 having previously worked for the other company 12 years,I have been advised by acas that I should be given notice and paid in full at least 2-3 months pay in advance if they do not want myself to stay! Is that correct I am putting in an appeal against the decision aswell
• Hello OTS Employment law team. I am looking at ending an employees fixed term contract early. I wonder if i can do that and how can i do this without breaching the contract or being liable? The employee has been ill for some time, and I have relied heavily on them to carry out the tasks we needed done in the fixed term. Unfortunately the contract didnt have any terms about inseminating the contract early for sickness. Coudl you please provide some assistance and legal advice on this employment contract matter?

Unlawful Deduction From Wages and Under Payment Questions

• I've have worked on the Construction Industry and received under Umbrella Payroll. I had some deductions from my wages that I believe is not lawful, like Employer's NIC, Holiday and a few others. Please could you get back to me if there is any change of a claim to receive some of these deductions back?
• I've experienced what I believe to be unlawful deductions from my wages, as well as my other colleagues having experienced this as well. I also believe the reasoning behind the deductions breaches the terms of the contract. I have contacted acas and the advice I was given was simply that I can get advice from a solicitor who will know more of the legality behind a potential case. If you would be willing to contact me back, I would be more than willing to go into my situation more and explore whether going down the route of a tribunal or going to count court. There is also the matter of my employers not meeting many health and safety requirements within the workplace, and not providing minimum requirements for the employees.
