The ACQ Law Awards have named OTS Solicitors, immigration law Firm of the year - 2017.
Since 2008, the ACQ Law Awards have been celebrating achievement, innovation and brilliance within the legal sector. The nomination process is independent and the winners are chosen by the profession itself. The awards are designed to highlight work done by legal individuals and departments, especially those who operate at an international level.
“As a young, rapidly growing firm, we are delighted to have been recognised by the ACQ Law Awards. Our firm ethos is to provide a caring, smart, progressive service to our clients and to ensure our staff feel empowered and supported in their efforts. Being recognised for this award by our legal peers shows that we are achieving this two-pronged goal”.
Based in the City, OTS Solicitors has acquired a reputation as one of the best immigration law firms in London. Launched in 2015 by Teni Shahiean and Oshin Shahiean, members of the firm are regularly called upon by national and international media to comment on immigration issues.
The firm now consists of 15; a mix of consultants, solicitors and case workers. Targeting talent is a key aim of the partners and as such, they have secured former immigration judge Paul Gulbenkian and international public lawyer, government advisor and renowned author, Dr Harry Hagopian to act as consultants to the firm.
As well as a high calibre of immigration lawyers, OTS Solicitor’s reviews speak volumes about the high standard of work achieved by the firm.
“Professional service and very supportive during the whole process!”
“I had a great experience with OTS Solicitors as they were very professional and efficient.”
“The work of OTS can be best described by their true professionalism on immigration matters.”
Looking towards the future
When asked about future plans for the firm, Oshin Shahiean stated: “We have made an application for to the Legal 500 and we are confident we will achieve a reference as Teni Shahiean and Paul Gulbenkian have already been mentioned in the past.”
“We are also expanding our legal services to include providing comprehensive advice on commercial, family and employment law”.
“As a firm, we are also dedicated to helping employers attract and keep talent. The global mobility services we offer help companies acquire and maintain their UK Sponsor Licences so they can continue recruiting from outside the EU.
Mr Shahiean also stated that HR managers are now needing guidance to understand how Brexit will affect not only the retention of their current staff but how recruitment of EU nationals will be governed once the UK leaves the EU.
He also mentioned that himself and Teni Shahiean have recently come back from a trip to China, where they met with various business and academic institutions.
“There is an enormous opportunity for an experienced, dynamic law firm to provide UK immigration law advice to Chinese institutions and we are looking forward to working closely with companies and universities in China to help them achieve their objectives”.
