I wonder if you can answer my question.
I am helping my wife who is latvian with her application for the Permanent Residence card.
The problem is that when filling the opnline form there is a question which is Have you ever received any money from the UK government or a local council?
She did recieve tax credits before but not currently, so we answerer yes but because we did so now there is another question: Please tick the relevant box(es) below to show which benefits you receive.
The problem is, she is not receiving anything now. We ticked the box tax credit (we get a statement every year which says zero) and it askes for the amount but we are not allowed to enter zero!
what should we do? We are stuck.
We do receive child benefit but its deposited in my bank account.

Public Answer:

Thank you for your enquiry.

The Home Office's published timescale to decide an EEA(PR) application is 6 months. There have been cases of Applicants waiting longer than 6 months for the Home Office to decide their applications which has been often due to Applicants not providing enough information with their application.

In your situation, it is important to provide the Home Office with a detailed explanation about your wife's financial history which will enable the Home Office to understand your wife's circumstances when assessing her application. As part of our representations for all EEA Applications, we draft detailed and bespoke legal representations addressing all aspects of the EEA Regulations, citing leading case law.

At this stage, we beleive it would be beneficial for you and your wife to attend our office for a consultation to discuss your enquiry in detail so that we can ensure your wife's application for Permanent Residence in the UK has the best possible chance of success.
