Breaking News – Article 50 To Be Triggered Next Wednesday

In news just in – the Government has announced that Article 50 will be triggered on Wednesday, 29^th March 2017, just over one week away.

British Prime Minister, Theresa May will write a letter to the 27 other EU nations informing them of Britain’s intention to leave the bloc.

Negotiations are expected to begin as soon as possible, with the EU wanting to have them concluded within 18 months.

Mrs May is currently touring Wales trying to build relationships following the announcement by SNP leader, Nicola Sturgeon last week that Scotland wanted another independence referendum.

According to the BBC, A No 10 spokesman said the UK's Ambassador to the EU, Sir Tim Barrow, informed the European Council, headed by President Donald Tusk, earlier on Monday of the date that Article 50 would be triggered.
