OTS Solicitors is offering an unpaid legal internship. The internship is normally full-time lasting 1-3 months.

Prospective Interns will preferably have a minimum 2.1 honours degree. Prospective applicants need not have completed the LPC or BPTC, but must have a demonstrable interest in law. Above all, we are looking for an enthusiastic individual that is able to work under pressure and is keen to develop a practical working-knowledge of Immigration law and practice.

During the internship you will be required to assist solicitors with a variety of tasks, we try to expose you as much as possible to the working practices of the firm. Day to day casework will be in relation to Immigration law and Human Rights. Specific assignments during internship will include, but not be limited to: contacting clients and arranging meetings; dealing with a broad range of clients by telephone and face to face; our clients range from private individuals to multi-national corporations and you will be expected to responds appropriately to clients; ask questions to clarify, tailor language, tone, style and format to match audience; assist solicitors with legal research; preparing letters of advice and representation; draft briefs to counsel and expert witnesses; prepare bundles for trial; filing applications at court; assisting on billing and other legal costs related tasks.
