OTS Solicitors Managing Partner, Oshin Shahiean Meets With London Mayor Sadiq Khan
Recently, the Managing Partner of OTS Solicitors, Oshin Shahiean, met with London Mayor, Sadiq Khan.
This followed an announcement at the end of 2017 from Mr Khan that a raft of new investments from India and Pakistan were planned for the British capital.
London Mayor Visits Pakistan and India
In December 2017, Mr Kahn visited Pakistan and India to meet with business leaders and politicians. The aim of the visit was to reassure that as Britain leaves the EU, #LondonIsOpen for business, students and tourists.
Prior to his trip, London’s Mayor also said that the United Kingdom government needed to do more to make sure students from the region continued to come to London and proposed the reintroduction of a Post-Study Work visa.
Speaking at Habib University - the first and only liberal arts university in Pakistan, Mr Khan said:
“This has been a significant visit and one which will reap rewards now and, in the years ahead. London already has extremely deep and enduring ties with India and Pakistan, but all relationships need to be nurtured and there has never been a more important time for the United Kingdom and for London to make sure these bonds and links remain strong and continue to grow.
“Today, I have announced some key investments from India and Pakistan into London which shows that the city is a vital destination for business and will continue to be so.”
Significant Indian investments in London
Mr Khan stated there were a lot of significant investments being made by Indian companies in the hospitality sector. This included London & Partners securing an investment from Devyani International, which is planning to open seven tea bars, starting in London and spreading throughout the United Kingdom. In addition, While Old World Hospitality and Massive Restaurants expanding their venues throughout the capital.
Other investments from the region include UPL, Apollo Tyres and Lalit Hotels bringing their global marketing HQ’s to London, in recognition of the city’s status as a world class business hub.
OTS Opening a Dubai office

The seminar is entitled “UK Business Visa Requirements - Helping foreign nationals and businesses enter and remain in the UK”. In addition, the partners and senior Immigration caseworker, Ms Saida Ahmed will be providing businesses and individuals interested in relocating to the UK the opportunity to talk about their ambitions further in 30-minute one-to-one sessions on Sunday, 15th April and Monday, 16th April 2016.
