When can I enter the UK on a visit visa?

Hello , I have found your number through Google . I received 6 months UK standard visitor visa to attend Alumni function in my university ( I mention this reason in application ) . But due to unforeseen reasons I was not able to travel . Kindly let me know can I travel now to UK for tourism ?
