Shazia joined OTS Solicitors in June 2015.
Shazia, is fluent in Urdu, is qualified under the Law Society's immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme as a Senior Caseworker and Supervisor which allows her to specialise in immigration and Nationality Law and provide specialist immigration legal advice.
Shazia works very closely with the Afghan, Pakistani, Iranian, Arab and Jamaican London communities specialising in Asylum work, appeal preparation and conducting advocacy at both the immigration Asylum Chamber, First Tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal. Shazia holds an enhanced CRB check which allows her to work with vulnerable clients and in particular unaccompanied Asylum seeking minors to ensure that they are dealt with in a professional and compassionate way. Shazia also has an expertise and interest in entry clearance appeals, it is often the case that the Entry Clearance Officer makes extremely incorrect and irrational decisions and Shazia has a special interest in taking these cases to Court so that the immigration Judge is made aware of the irrationality of the decisions made by the Entry Clearance Officers.
Shazia’ regularly challenges immigration decisions by way of judicial review Applications to the Administrative Court, in particular. With 10 years of legal practice, her experience enables her to achieve the best outcome for her clients. Shazia deals with each case and each client as an individual, looking at the various issues and advising them of the best available options for them. Shazia has worked as the legal advisor for MTA International, a worldwide television channel and also works for them as a presenter of children’s programmes. She has also featured on discussion programmes.
